Three arrests and seizure of assets worth over 3 million euros.

This is the result of an operation against international drug trafficking conducted by the Financial Police of the Economic and Financial Police Unit of Cagliari , coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office - Anti-Mafia District Directorate of Cagliari.

The order issued by the Cagliari GIP orders the precautionary custody in prison for two people resident in Sardinia and one in the Netherlands.

«The activity, called operation “EV MARKET GARDEN”, is the epilogue of a complex investigation aimed at dismantling what, based on the evidence gathered so far, is believed to be a criminal organization dedicated to the international trafficking of narcotic substances such as cocaine» , explain the investigators.

The investigation reconstructed the illicit activities "of a group composed of eight individuals (three alleged promoters and five alleged supporters), believed to be rooted in the province of South Sardinia but with ramifications in the Netherlands and Belgium , who were allegedly responsible for the importation into the regional territory of over 77 kilograms of cocaine (with a market value ranging between 3 and 6 million euros)".

The drug's "journey" began in Holland, in the areas of Tilburg, Breda, Baarle Nassau and Baarle Hertog and, subsequently, by concealing it on board goods transport vehicles equipped with double bottoms, the cocaine reached Sardinia to be sold.

During the investigations , over 20 kilos of pure cocaine were also seized .

The seizure carried out by the Finance Police against the two Sardinian suspects concerns a farm in the Serrenti area, over 90 properties, buildings and lands (mainly located in Southern Sardinia), financial assets, vehicles and other valuable assets.

At the same time, a European arrest warrant was issued against the suspect residing in the Netherlands, with a simultaneous order to freeze real estate and movable assets held in Dutch territory, with a value of over 600,000 euros.
