Parties at the Costa Smeralda clubs, his mother's birthday, boat trips, work appointments . While Cinzia Pinna's body was abandoned on her estate in Conca Entosa , Emanuele Ragnedda's life continued normally . At least on the surface.
A week after the murder, Ragnedda attended her mother's birthday party at a restaurant in Arzachena . The day was capped off by a gesture that couldn't go unnoticed. The man rented a helicopter, apparently to give his mother a tour of the Costa Smeralda . But there were other parties and nights out at clubs, as well as several business meetings.
When he discovered last weekend that the Carabinieri knew about his evening with Cinzia, he went into a tailspin. The Carabinieri reconstructed the relationship between the two, stating that their interactions were sporadic; the woman had spent the season on the Costa Smeralda .
The fight
The military confirmed that extensive use of alcohol and cocaine had been made that evening.
"He had a knife in his hand, and he was pointing it at me. I got scared, everything went black and I couldn't understand anything. Then I shot," Ragnedda said in his confession . The man said he lost control of the situation, perhaps amplifying his perception of the danger he was facing. And the background to the argument was apparently delusional; the entrepreneur reportedly described a strange conversation about the devil or similar topics .
This circumstance, if confirmed, would not alleviate the charges against Ragnedda. The entrepreneur allegedly shot Cinzia Pinna when he had the option not to and after putting himself in a position to kill (he was taking cocaine and had a gun readily available) .
