"Ciao Frà, you left without warning... what a joke you played. Only this time you really fooled us. We will miss you terribly, our friend". There is a lot of sadness in the farewell words of the Brotzu colleagues for Franco Deplano, nurse and manager of the hospital's operating blocks, who died two days ago due to a sudden illness.

Deplano was 57 years old and was esteemed by colleagues and patients for his humanity and the willingness with which he carried out his work. "Greet us all and save a place for us when we are together again to laugh and toast", wrote with emotion "the friends of the Directorate of Nursing Health Professions and the operating rooms of Arnas Brotzu", who remember "your spirit, your kindness and your exuberance".

Many messages of condolence appeared on social media, even from patients. In over a thousand kidney transplants in which he took part , Deplano contributed in a concrete way to saving hundreds of lives , leaving a deep mark on Sardinian healthcare.
