«We were left stranded at the airport for hours without anyone's assistance».
Anger and long faces abounded at Cagliari airport, where dozens of passengers had been waiting since 7:30 a.m. to depart for Rome. It was supposed to be the second Territorial Continuity connection of the day, but the Aeroitalia Boeing took off after three hours.
At the Mario Mameli airport in Cagliari-Elmas, the sense of injustice has heated up on several levels, "with the distinct feeling that we've been taken for a ride for a long time," say the passengers left stranded.
" Officially, our flight didn't depart because the crew didn't show up. It's absurd," emphasizes Simone Marrocu , 38, an entrepreneur. "Another serious issue is that the flight took off regularly after ours, the 9:30 one, without any of us being re-protected."
Only at 10:20 a.m. were the stranded passengers informed of their departure for Rome. Among them was the mayor of Villasimius, Gianluca Dessi.
