The MSC group has decided not to acquire the Moby shipping company and will sell its 49% stake to its majority shareholder, the Onorato group.
The decision was taken following an investigation by the Antitrust Authority into "possible violations of Article 101 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union" , which protects competition within the common market.
The Antitrust investigation focused on the structural link between the shipping companies Moby and GNV and the risk of monopoly on ferry routes, particularly to Sardinia .
