«Dad beats mommy» . A message on the YouPol app, from here the investigations started and a girl from Oristano managed to block her violent father . It is just one of the recent results obtained by the Police Headquarters after the reports sent on the specific application for smartphones, tablets and PCs.

A service created eight years ago to report cases of violence, bullying and various crimes. "The statistics confirm that from 2024 to May 2025 there has been a progressive increase also in the Oristano area of cases of violence within the home but also episodes of bullying, drug dealing and other crimes" explained the chief of staff Michele Chessa.

Extreme situations that are increasingly reported through the application, especially by young people, as demonstrated by the episode of the girl who asked the police for help after her father repeatedly mistreated her mother. But there was also the case of a student who was regularly mocked and persecuted by his classmates: a situation that could have degenerated if the boy had not had the presence of mind to write a message on YouPol and tell what was happening. "The application is very important because it allows us to interact directly with the citizen - he added - those who are victims of violence or those who are aware of particular situations can report the episodes, even anonymously". And in recent days a man who was banned from frequenting public places was spotted inside a bar: the police were immediately reported with a message on YouPol.

The app allows access with user registration or anonymously, then sending messages and images directly to the operations centers of the Police Headquarters. "YouPol is identical to a messaging service, whoever wants can get in touch with the police directly and quickly," recalls Matteo Porceddu, director of the General Prevention and Public Aid Office of the Police Headquarters. The application is managed from an operational point of view by the Anti-Crime Directorate and immediately puts you in contact with the nearest Police Headquarters.
