After the asphalt pouring in various areas of Quartu, it's finally the turn of Viale Colombo. One of the busiest arteries of the city, where for years that restyling announced several times and postponed by other interventions in progress had been awaited.
The work will begin on Monday, June 16 and, barring unforeseen circumstances, will be completed on July 2. In total, just over two weeks to complete three separate lots, with work at night from 10 pm to 6 am . At night - the Town Hall explains - the road will still be passable, in the direction of Poetto towards Via Marconi, and during the day it will be reopened to traffic. While parking bans, with possible removal, will start at 7 pm. From June 16 to the morning of June 21, construction work will take place in the section between the roundabout on Via Marconi and Piazza Santa Maria, and then continue from the 19th to the 27th from Piazza Santa Maria to the intersection with Via San Benedetto and Via Salieri. And finally, the third lot, from the roundabout between Via San Benedetto and Via Salieri to that of Viale Lungomare del Golfo, from June 26 to July 2.
"The will of the municipal administration is to make motorists safe by giving them a fully functional artery in every section", the words of the mayor Graziano Milia. "Over 50 kilometers have been paved during the council term, others are planned this year thanks to the millions already put in the budget". And to minimize the inconvenience "in the so-called Via del Mare the work will be carried out at night, thus avoiding further obstacles to traffic and respecting strict directives aimed at containing noise", adds Milia. "In the belief of the importance of the intervention, we ask a little patience and collaboration from the citizens and the utmost caution from motorists in transit : in just over 2 weeks Quartu will take another step forward in its path of rebirth".
