Landing of illegal immigrants during the night on the coast of Quartu and along the south-eastern coast of the island .

Ten of them, apparently of Algerian origin , were noticed by some people who were hanging out on the beach at Foxi . They were also noticed by motorists and a patrol of Quartu carabinieri on duty on the seafront.

Eight were taken to the Reception Center in Monastir for the necessary checks on their documents. Among the shipwrecked, who arrived on a boat, there was also a woman with her child of about one year, taken as a precaution to Brotzu . It seems that they are all well.

The ten would have arrived on the island after a navigation that would have been quite calm.

At the moment there is no news of any other landings in the area . The checks are carried out by the Carabinieri.
