One year and 4 months for very serious injuries . Yesterday, the preliminary hearing judge Sergio De Luca, in court in Sassari, sentenced a thirty-year-old Nigerian man for hitting a 27-year-old compatriot at the height of an argument in an apartment in the historic center on 5 December 2022 .
The accused was celebrating the birth of his daughter and had received a visit from the non-EU citizen at home when the latter reminded him of an unpaid debt of 800 euros . At that point the second would have taken the first's television "as a pledge" and from there the altercation would have started, ending with a hammer blow on the African's head , which had caused his skull to crack and a prognosis of over 40 days following a a delicate surgical operation.
Yesterday the deputy prosecutor Erica Angioni had asked for a sentence of 4 years and 8 months for discussion . The lawyer Danilo Mattana defends the accused while the civil party lawyer is Silvia Ferraris.
