Little Andrea Fasano didn't make it. The son of Laura Porta, the 36-year-old nurse from Bolotana who died in the eighth month of pregnancy in Pistoia, died at the Meyer hospital in Florence .
The newborn was born by cesarean section, but his condition appeared serious right from the start. After a week-long hospitalization, he didn't make it.
The mother had died due to a cerebral hemorrhage, perhaps due to an aneurysm. Antonio Fasano, his partner, called 118 when it was just after 1.30pm. Laura had gone to the bathroom, vomited, then he heard a thud. She fell to the ground unconscious, and he immediately tried to resuscitate her. Then the ambulance arrived, the transfer to the operating room to perform a caesarean section and deliver the baby.
