The collection of signatures for the proposed popular initiative law Pratobello 24 ends tomorrow . The mayor of Orgosolo, Pasquale Mereu , proposer of the law, declared in recent days that the signatures, based on reliable projections, have exceeded one hundred thousand . And if at first it was thought to continue the collection until the last available second, in the end it was decided - with the result largely achieved - to interrupt it.

Now, as Michele Zuddas, the lawyer who supported the committees for the authentication of signatures in numerous initiatives especially in the Cagliari area, recalls, the Municipalities are responsible for the final verification . «If in small towns it is easier to link the name of the signatory to the registration number on the electoral lists», he explains, «the operation will be more difficult in large centers, where even the duties of the employees have different burdens». Therefore the final validation will last for at least fifteen days. «I believe that at the beginning of October it will be possible to deliver the over one hundred thousand signatures collected into the hands of the President of the Regional Council Piero Comandini».

In fact, the committees already have a date in mind. "We will present the signatures to the Region on Wednesday, October 2," says Luigi Pisci, of the Sarcidano committee . "And it will be a moment of reflection and celebration: starting tomorrow, once the collection is over, we will be operational in organizing a Saccargia-style demonstration that will be held simultaneously in Cagliari. We will arrive in the capital from every part of the island, with buses and our own vehicles, to bear witness to the spirit of Pratobello 24: all together, that is, politicians of any faction, committees, civil society, we can save Sardinia from this unprecedented assault by carrying forward the proposed law of popular initiative."

The last signatures for Pratobello will be collected today from 6pm to 9pm in Piazza Si 'e Boi in Selargius.
