There are 5 beaches in Arzachena for which the mayor Roberto Ragnedda has issued, with 5 separate ordinances, a temporary bathing ban. Decisions taken after receiving, from the Regional Agency for the Protection of the Environment of Sardinia (Arpas), Department of Sassari, a communication of bathing outside the norm, for intestinal enterococci and escherichia coli.

These decisions were taken "taking note of the potential existence of dangers to public health which requires the urgent adoption of measures to delimit areas prohibited for bathing which could, presumably, have a negative impact on the health of bathers".

Precisely in the stretch of sea called Tremonti, for the presence of intestinal enterococci; in the Ea Bianca area, for escherichia coli and intestinal enterococci; In the P.ta Capaccia area, for intestinal enterococci and escherichia coli; in the Cala Bitta area, for intestinal enterococci and escherichia coli; in the Capriccioli area, for escherichia coli and intestinal enterococci. Temporary bathing ban therefore, until normal conditions are restored, which will be decreed with a specific Ordinance .

Mayor Ragnedda delegated to the Local Police Command the temporary placement of suitable signs indicating the prohibition of bathing along the restricted stretches of beach.
