The completion and transformation of the former Porto Torres Fish Market into a service center for the port has entered the operational phase.

The Port System Authority of the Sea of Sardinia has published the tender procedure with a basic tender amount of 2 million and 752 thousand euros.

A total redevelopment that the contractor of the works will have to implement for the Teleferica quay building, which became available to the Authority in December 2017 after the signing of the memorandum of understanding with the Sardinia Region and the Municipality.

The project involves the internal arrangement of the premises, the completion of the finishes and systems, the construction of the roof, the walls and the adaptation of the steps of the room originally intended for the auctions of the fish market and converted into a conference room.

But above all there will be a restyling of the external walls, the upper floor of which will be wrapped and reshaped with a metal casing made with perforated zinc-titanium panels, resistant to salt, which will give the building a new configuration well inserted in the port and landscape context. .

Internally, the project provides for the subdivision of the building into four areas: offices of the Port Authority, a conference room with 170 seats and a service center to be used as offices.

Finally, the northern part of the structure could be destined, in the future, to the fish market, with the provision of a central hall, an area for cold rooms, a kitchen, warehouses, offices, toilets and technical rooms.

The external part of the structure, about 6 thousand square meters, will have access for cars with parking and a green arrangement with native essences.
