The doctor Paolo Milia from Sassari will carry out the psychiatric assessment on Fulvio Baule , the 41-year-old from Ploaghe accused of killing his in-laws , Basilio Saladdino and Liliana Mancusa , with an axe, on 26 February 2022, in Porto Torres, and of having attacked brutally his ex-wife , Ilaria Saladdino.

This was ordered by the Court of Assizes of Sassari , presided over by Massimo Zaniboni, at the end of the hearing in which the last three witnesses cited by the defence, the defense lawyer Nicola Lucchi, were heard.

The psychiatrist Milia will officially receive the assignment during the next hearing of the trial , set for February 5, when he will be called to testify one last witness, Antonello Gadau , cited by prosecutor Enrica Angioni, with the sharing of the civil party lawyers Gabriele Satta , Gianmario Solinas and Silvia Ferraris.

Fulvia Pais, cousin of the accused, appeared on the witness stand . He spoke of the quarrel between Ilaria Saladdino and Baule's mother which broke out during the baptism of the couple's twin children. The lawyer Orlando Ugone , who looked after the interests of the two spouses in the separation proceedings, which ended in December, reported the difficulties of Ilaria Saladdino and her husband in agreeing on the times of visits to the children .

“Baule was worried because he couldn't see his children during the week due to irreconcilable work schedules,” he underlined.

The couple psychotherapist Costabile Grandino, in September 2021, met Fulvio Baule and his wife in two therapy sessions, at the request of the accused: «I interrupted the consultation because there were not the conditions to continue a couple's work, between the two there was too great a distance. Ilaria did not willingly accept these meetings because she perceived me as a biased therapist", said the specialist.
