Porto Torres, homeless man half frozen and starving taken to hospital

A homeless man from Porto Torres in precarious health conditions was urgently transferred to the Emergency Room of the Santissima Annunziata in Sassari.
The man of about 60 years old was found half frozen and starving inside the building of the former Consorzio agrario, in via Sassari, near the Granai supermarket. The carabinieri of the Porto Torres company and the firefighters of the local detachment intervened on the scene and supported the health workers of the Avis ambulance to load him onto the stretcher and take him out of the unattended building.
The 118 staff gave him first aid before transporting him to the hospital in red code. The man had alerted the emergency services after feeling unwell. His health conditions immediately appeared serious.
Dehydrated and cold, the homeless man had moved into the building some time ago, which, however, does not appear to be in safe conditions.
