Thirteen years of ban and now the possibility of returning to swim on the stretch of beach between Minciaredda and the Fiume Santo thermoelectric power plant in the Porto Torres area.
The ban on bathing on one of the beaches that remained off limits for 13 years has been cancelled, a space forbidden to bathers which is now once again usable.
This is demonstrated by the results of the monitoring carried out during 2023 by Arpas on the samples taken by the ASL technicians on behalf of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia and which highlighted how all the sea water in the municipal area (including Asinara) is of good quality .
The classification of the island's bathing waters is contained in the circular issued by the Ras, general management of the regional agency of the hydrographic district of Sardinia. A long-awaited result that puts an end to the bathing bans issued over the years at the point called "100 meters east of the mouth of the Fiume Santo".
A positive response to the various requests of the mayor Massimo Mulas, addressed to the competent authorities, to carry out constant and punctual checks at all times of the year so as to be able to return the body of water to full enjoyment by the Turritana community.
«It is splendid news that we have been waiting for for years - commented the mayor - which concerns one of the most beautiful beaches in our territory and which comes following the fruitful collaboration with the bodies responsible for analyzes and controls, the ASL of Sassari and Arpas, carried out in an increasingly complete and punctual manner. With the lifting of the bathing ban, a new front opens up for the deserved valorisation of an area with splendid environmental characteristics which, finally, is totally usable by all tourists who choose our Municipality as their holiday destination and, above all, by the Turritans who are particularly fond of her. The news confirms that the environmental quality of our territory reaches the desired high levels"
