Another car on fire during the night, in the Monte Agellu neighborhood, in Porto Torres. Two cars on fire in a few days. The arsonists struck again during the holidays.
This time it was the turn of a Fiat Qubo parked in via Canepa, not far from the home of the owner, a 68-year-old pensioner. The fire broke out around 11 p.m., after hearing shouts and noises under the window. The flames and a loud bang woke up the neighbors, who rushed to the street to try to put out the fire.
The firefighters, who immediately rushed to the scene, put out the flames. The car was seriously damaged on the front and sides. On one of the wheels there was a strange paper wrapping that would suggest a primer from which the spark would have started.
The firefighters' report will clarify the causes, probably of malicious origin. "I was scared, so scared that it made me feel sick", says the owner "we heard the screams of children and we think it was a game in bad taste that caused this disaster". The carabinieri, who intervened on site, are investigating the case.
