An inspection by the commissioner for public works, Aldo Salaris , took place yesterday, at the port of Teulada , aimed at "verifying the state of the works and the needs of the port already included in the regional plan we are working on", the words of the exponent of the Giunta Solinas.

The Region is carrying out the Regional Plan of the Tourist Port Network , defined by Salaris as "a fundamental planning and programming tool that allows a relevant segment of our economy, that of ports, to grow by disciplining it and putting it into a system with the aim to allow the whole of Sardinia to have reference structures both in terms of services and in terms of greater attractiveness ". Improving existing structures, optimizing berths and creating new port infrastructures are the primary objectives of the regional plan which is currently in the phase of Vas, strategic environmental assessment, necessary to combine the needs of environmental protection with the development policies linked to the Plan.

INFRASTRUCTURE - The port infrastructure of Teulada is equipped with two fixed piers , to which are added six docks that reach a total length of 920 meters and three floating piers. A total of 250 berths are offered for boats reaching a maximum length of 35 meters.

During the meeting the councilor highlighted the potential of the port infrastructure but also the need to implement the services offered, among which the lack of refueling plays an important role. With regard to the works on the ground, the greatest criticality detected consists in the promiscuity of use of the service spaces, in the lack of those intended for pedestrian use and green works, in the scarce amount of covered area that does not allow the port structure to offer the boat owner the expected services. All criticalities received by the exponent of the Giunta Solinas.

The commissioner has in fact reiterated the will and the commitment of the regional council , in the current phase of elaboration of the new tourist port network, for the implementation of the services to be offered to yachtsmen in the port of Teulada, also in consideration of the remoteness of the inhabited area (about 7 km), and to encourage the use of sustainable management solutions (bike sharing, electric cars, shuttle service, to name just a few) and which can attract new users throughout the year.

“The full enhancement of the port will allow the area to grow further in terms of greater attractiveness, we are ready to enhance this infrastructure that we consider strategic”, concluded Salaris.
