In the last month, the delays of air connections have become structural and no longer an exception: even yesterday at Cagliari airport more than one departure out of three (31 out of 85 total) slipped ahead of the scheduled time, with expectations from twenty minutes up to even four hours (this is the case of the Vueling route to Barcelona).

By now the evening planes taking off or arriving from Fiumicino and Linate - that is, the routes of territorial continuity guaranteed in the capital by Ita Airways - have an average delay of one hour. But the other companies are no less: yesterday Ryanair's Ciampino-Cagliari arrived three and a half hours later than expected.

The knots

The Minister of Infrastructure and Transport lands in Sardinia today in the hottest moment for mobility, in which finding a ticket is as easy as hitting the lottery and you still have to be willing to pay a fortune to get on a plane: in the Cagliari airport Ita Airways' Airbuses have been traveling fully booked for weeks and therefore those with an emergency must turn to low-cost airlines, with prices that steadily exceed 400 euros for a single journey.

Prices

Fares, meanwhile, break all records: now a return ticket to spend the summer holidays on the island can cost more than 800 euros. The increases range from 30 to 50%, despite the fact that the price of jet fuel has plummeted in recent weeks. Compared to a year ago - notes the Iata, the international association that brings together companies - it has dropped by an average of 30%. But the cost reduction has so far not translated into any discounts for passengers. On the contrary. Price increases have become the biggest obstacle for the upcoming tourist season. During the meeting, requested by the Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy Adolfo Urso, "Mr. Prices" asked the companies for explanations. But the government's pressure will hardly be used to obtain a reduction in tariffs in the current season.
