Piscina Rei, hours of terror: the story of the owner of Eos Village

The tourists evacuated yesterday afternoon during the fire that came dangerously close to the Piscina Rei, with 300 guests, were taken back to the tourist village that hosts them.

The tourists were partly evacuated with rubber dinghies and temporarily transferred to the Escargot and nearby kiosks pending the end of the emergency. Now they have all returned to their rooms at the Eos village, one of the most important and well-known accommodation facilities on the Costa Rei coast.

An experience not easy to forget. «As soon as we saw the flames - says Stefano Carta, owner of the village with his father Antonello - we all got busy. We have mobilized the staff and all our employees managing to block the flames a short distance from the fence. An amazing job together with all the operators of the fire engine. We have invited our guests to move to the beach. Several of them were then moved to safe premises on the coast. Now they are all back in the village. That was all we were interested in. But we went through moments of great concern: no one was injured".
