Pays 800 euros for a room that doesn't exist: a young student from Villaputzu scammed
The university student was looking for a house in Bologna, but it didn't go well for himHe defrauded a young student from Villaputzu by having him pay a two-month deposit for the rent of a non-existent room. The Carabinieri of the local station reported a thirty-four year old from Taranto, homeless, burdened with numerous similar complaints, for aggravated fraud.
His latest victim was a Sardinian student enrolled at the University of Bologna. The 21-year-old, looking for a place to live in the Emilian city, had found an offer on the web: a room for 400 euros a month . The alleged owner of the house asked him for two months' rent to block it. Unfortunately, after the unfortunate boy proceeded to make the 800 euro transfer to a Postepay Evolution prepaid card, the man disappeared into thin air.
After the complaint, the police identified the card, registered to a third person unrelated to the matter who, last month, had had his documents stolen. After further investigations, the military finally arrived at the real person responsible for the scam.
