A mural created by the Osilo artist Paola Bassu has been enhancing the square of the comprehensive school in via Brigata Sassari, in Osilo, for a few days now.
It was the municipal administration, led by Mayor Giovanni Ligios, who wanted the painting on one of the walls of the school, with the aim of representing local history in the most ancestral embrace of colors. It tells the story of the traditional costume, the heart symbol of the race to the ring that animates the town every summer, the splendid and important Malaspina Castle, cultural elements that intertwine to celebrate the roots of Osilo, but with a clear invitation to look to the future with renewed enthusiasm. In the background of the mural, measuring eight square meters, there is the ancient village and the historic center, traditions and places expressed with bright colors and that characterize the values and local identity.
The message is to convey to the new generations the meaning and historical importance of the country, so as to preserve its past and project it towards the future.
