The last fall of debris was just ten days ago. Now, after the warning, comes the order: within fifteen days the unsafe building on Via Tirso must be made safe. The mayor, Massimiliano Sanna, has ordered the owners of the building, which occupies the street numbers from 35 to 40, to urgently provide for the renovation, or at least the consolidation, of the facade.
"In case of non-compliance - we read in the document signed by the mayor - the Municipality will proceed directly, with reimbursement of expenses, and will send a report to the judicial authority".
For some time now, a long stretch of the sidewalk of the central street has been cordoned off with barriers due to the risk of dangerous fragments of lime falling from the cornice. Already in October, following an intervention by the fire brigade, the owners had been sent a formal notice in which they were invited to secure the now obsolete metal protection net.
At the end of the same month, the Municipality received a communication informing it that it was "taking steps to make the building safe by removing vegetation from the facade and replacing the safety net".
As of today, everything is unchanged, in fact the situation has worsened: on March 22, the firefighters verified the detachment of new portions of rubble, which ended up on the street. The work can no longer be postponed.
