Sardinia has a very poor performance in terms of oncological surgical interventions. Operations for breast, lung, colorectal and prostate cancer performed within 30 days of the booking date are an indicator that guarantees compliance with waiting times according to the National Waiting List Management Plan, and according to the latest data published by Agenas, the Island is almost always at the bottom of the ranking of Italian hospitals.

As for breast cancer, Businco (Brotzu) is last, with just 9% of interventions performed within the correct timeframes; at the AOU of Sassari the percentage is slightly higher (12%), and at that of Cagliari 19%.
