After an unsuccessful first day, the search at sea for the body of Rosa Bechere, the 60-year-old who disappeared last November 26 in Olbia , resumed this morning.
The divers of the 4th Coast Guard Underwater Unit of the Maritime Directorate of Cagliari once again dived today in the waters in front of the Olbia seafront in the area not far from via Aretino, where the home of Maria Giovanna Meloni and Giorgio Beccu is located, the couple under investigation by the Prosecutor of Tempio Pausania for the disappearance, possible murder and concealment of the woman's body.
The two, questioned yesterday by the prosecutor, Daniele Rosa, made spontaneous statements and handed over a substantial dossier which also tells the story of the oppression suffered by Rosa Bechere in the condominium in via Petta , after the arrest of her partner Davide Iannelli, accused of the murder of rival Tony Cozzolino, doused in petrol and set on fire right in front of the entrance to the apartment building in via Petta.
Meloni and Beccu claim to have helped the woman once she was left alone, after her partner was transferred to the Bancali prison: "We did not kill Rosa Bechere, we were her friends and we have always helped her".
According to the investigators, the two could instead have taken advantage of Rosa Bechere's state of disability, administering massive doses of drugs and taking possession of the few savings and postal cards on which her basic income was credited.
