In Olbia, for New Year's Eve, no barrels in public areas and no take-away drinks. But there will be an exception to keep the music on until 3 in the morning in public places.
This is what three ordinances signed by mayor Settimo Nizzi provide for in view of New Year's Eve.
Here's what the two provisions include:
- From 5pm on December 31st to 7am on January 1st, the possession and sale of firearms items (firecrackers, firecrackers and the like) in public areas is prohibited.
- In the same period of time, with the exception of subjects legitimated to possess and use them, it is forbidden to use fireworks, theatrical pyrotechnic articles and other pyrotechnic articles, crackling, crackling, whistling, in public areas, with the exception of products with an exclusive light effect, if compliant with current regulations. However, these can only be used within private areas and without causing any discomfort to people and animals. On the other hand, ordinance number 96/2022 prohibits, throughout the municipal area, the consumption, possession and sale for takeaway - both fixed and itinerant - of beverages of any kind contained in glass, plastic bottles, containers tetra brik and cans, from 7pm on 31st December to 7am on 1st January.
- Public establishments and premises where food and drink administration activities take place, as well as holders of itinerant licences, will have to administer take-away drinks exclusively in paper or compostable material cups, avoiding the use of plastic as much as possible.
- Furthermore, with ordinance number 97/2022, on the night of 31 December, public establishments will be able to broadcast live or reproduced music until 3 in the morning. After this time, the music may only be broadcast within suitable soundproofed rooms, without being perceived outside and in the living spaces.
"There is excitement in Olbia waiting for the big party on 31 December, to toast together with Emma Marrone who will accompany the city to 2023 with her wonderful music", underlines Mayor Nizzi. "Once again this year the municipal administration has issued the ordinances necessary to guarantee safety, but also to allow the celebrations to be extended a little longer than on other days of the year".
