Offshore Wind: Here Are the Plans to Devastate the Gulf of Angels
Sardinia under speculative attack: the proscenium of the Cagliari coast at riskPer restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
A wind turbine that turns into a dagger, an “enemy” hand that can pierce the landscape of the Island forever. The image is strong, but it is not rhetorical. The risk has gone far beyond the threat: on the Golfo degli Angeli, as on the rest of the Sardinian coasts, loom hundreds of latest-generation wind turbines up to 380 meters high, ready to stick into the most exclusive marine landscapes of Sardinia. The skyline is that of the Sella del Diavolo, the face is that of Poetto, the beach of the people of Cagliari.
First episode
The image of the first “episode” of the summer campaign of L'Unione Sarda – below – is a look at those devastating projects already presented by American multinationals and others, all aimed at devastating the exclusive proscenium of the Golfo degli Angeli. The updated map, with the additional requests for state concessions on the coast between Cagliari and Teulada, is an integral part of the dossier of the Single Superintendency of the Pnrr. The projects are countless: they range from the offshore wind farm of Thalassa Wind Srl, to the two industrial plants "Sardegna 1" and "Sardegna 2" presented by Renexia SpA, up to those of JP Morgan, the largest US investment bank which, through Nora Ventu Srl, presented the offshore projects called "Nora Energia 1" and "Nora Energia 2".
Americans in Nora
These last two are in pole position to disfigure the Gulf of Angels. The names are not a coincidence: Nora Energia 1 and Nora Energia 2. The first, the one on the Pula side, is the most imposing of the two: 53 gigantic blades with 795 megawatts of installed capacity, with an electricity production that is calculated equal to that consumed by 700,000 domestic users. The second, the one that from Sarroch points towards the Capo Carbonara side, has 40 wind blades and declares a capacity of 600 megawatts, equal to the consumption of 500,000 users.
