Since 2005 they have been fighting for the recovery of the suburbs of Nuoro, promoting significant environmental initiatives. And the Pino di Grazia Deledda area, in the “Città Giardino” district, has now become the headquarters of the non-profit organization “Orthobenessere” which is recovering the family lands of the Nobel Prize-winning writer from Nuoro, bringing them back to their former splendor.

From the old tank, passing through the little house which is slowly taking shape again, the action is great, with the appreciation of all the residents, in a work that unites entire generations. Like today's morning, when dozens wanted to participate in the planting ceremony of the old vineyard, which is seeing the light again after various interventions by volunteers. Present for the occasion were the deputy mayor Fabrizio Beccu, the new regional councilor Sebastian Cocco, majority and opposition councilors, together with the acronyms of Agris and Laore.

«This is an objective we have been cherishing for some time – says Riccardo Costa, of Orthobenessere – after the initiatives on Ortobene, since 2021 we have been dedicating heart and soul to the recovery of Grazia Deledda's land here in Viale Murichessa. We started from scratch, reclaiming an area that was in disastrous conditions and had been abandoned and today it has regained its soul."

Costa adds: «After having recovered the pine now transformed into a natural monument, we continued with the other parts of the land. Planting the vineyard was at the top of our objectives and we are happy to have done it thanks to the support of Forestas, the Municipality and the population who never left us alone."

«Without – concludes Costa – the support of the agronomist Francesco Deledda and the Oliplant company who supported us in the project free of charge we would never have made it». As well as without the support of those who have provided means and materials for the work carried out so far. The dialogue with the institutions has always been positive and we aim to continue in this direction, soon making the area become a park open to all, but also a home for events".
