The risk that nuclear waste could reach Sardinia is greater than ever.
The Minister of the Environment Pichetto Fratin announced the Government's hypothesis of creating three national repositories: one in the North, one in the Center and one in the South. And there are six eligible regions: Sardinia, precisely, together with Piedmont, Lazio, Sicily, Basilicata and Puglia.
As for the sites where the depot will be located, the minister explained: «There are 51 and the Environmental Impact Assessment procedure is underway for them».
