The investigation into Marco Pusceddu's murder is now focusing on the victim's private life. The Sassari prosecutor's office, through the Ozieri Carabinieri, is leaning toward a crime of passion after ruling out a professional motive. A fifty-one-year-old from Portoscuso, he was killed at 11:00 PM on August 7.

A man rang the doorbell at the 118 Intervol emergency service, where Pusceddu was on duty, and called out his name. The killer acted swiftly, fatally shooting him in the chest and head with a small-caliber weapon before fleeing.

Investigators are investigating a previous, unreported assault that occurred at a rest area in southern Sardinia.

On that occasion, Marco Pusceddu suffered a severe head injury that left him in a coma. He underwent several surgeries, but he claimed he didn't remember anything. Another incident under investigation involves a suspicious person's intrusion into the courtyard of the Intervol headquarters in Berchidda, where the fifty-one-year-old had worked before being transferred to Buddusò.

After the trauma, he was deemed unfit to drive ambulances. Investigators are also considering the legal matter with his ex-partner, a tumultuous relationship that ended with mutual stalking charges. This element, according to investigators, could narrow the scope of the investigation.

In Buddusò, where Pusceddu had recently been transferred, he was unknown. The local community, as Mayor Massimo Satta noted, believes the direct involvement of locals is unlikely, instead suggesting a punitive killing with roots in the rescuer's private past.

The testimonies of the two colleagues present at the time of the crime will also be crucial.
