Yesterday , a total of 6,855 flights were canceled worldwide, 6.2% of all scheduled ones . The BBC reports this, explaining that among the least damaged countries is China, which unlike the rest of the world does not depend on Microsoft.
And the situation has not completely returned to normal: a tail end of the IT crash continues to have effects across the planet, albeit to a lesser extent than yesterday.
Disasters are also recorded in Sardinia. In Cagliari, two departing flights were canceled (ITA's 6.30am flight to Linate and Ryanair's 4.55pm flight to Venice) and one arriving flight (always the afternoon Ryanair flight from Venice) . And several delays are accumulating, up to almost two hours: flights departing for Linate, Orio al Serio, Paris, Ancona and Florence have already been reported delayed. Planes arriving in the afternoon from Malpensa, Salerno and Florence were also delayed.
In Olbia the flight leaving for Paris was delayed by more than three hours . Planes to Naples and Florence and arrivals from Paris, Naples, Florence, Linate and Malpensa were also delayed. For the moment no cancellations.
In short, the alarm has not entirely subsided. And cybersecurity experts warn of «a second wave of inconvenience and damage that could come from cyber criminals. The alarm was raised this morning by the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD), the equivalent of the UK GCHQ or the US National Security Agency (NSA).
