Michele Fresi, who beat his father to death in Arzachena, received a life sentence.

The Sassari Assize Court has sentenced Michele Fresi, the 28-year-old who beat his father to death in Arzachena, to life imprisonment with one year of daytime solitary confinement .

The prosecutor had asked for a 30-year sentence .

The crime took place on the night of December 28, 2023, at the height of a dramatic evening.

Fresi, who that evening had been abusing acid, amphetamines, alcohol, and cocaine, as a close friend also reported in court, had gone berserk. He had beaten and stunned his friend at home, then gone out into the street, wreaking havoc with a baseball bat . This happened often, and his father, Giovanni Fresi, a 58-year-old goldsmith well-known in the city, always intervened to calm him down and bring him home.

That night, however, things went differently. Fresi lunged at his father with a stick he picked up from the ground and hit him repeatedly on the head, leaving him no escape .
