Five cruise ships in Cagliari until Sunday, the north of the island responds with four landings in Olbia and one in Golfo Aranci: for the long weekend of May 1st tourists "invade" Sardinia from the sea.
In the capital, it starts on the 2nd with the Star Clipper, and continues on the 3rd and 4th with two doubles: Saturday the Hebridrean Sky and the Caledonian Sky, Sunday the MSC Orchestra (capacity about 3,000 passengers) and the Seabourn Sojourn. In Olbia, May 1st with the Costa Pacifica (maximum occupancy 3,780 people), then Sunday a double with the Sea Cloud and Le Bouigainville. And then Golfo Aranci: Sunday the arrival of the Seabourn Sojourn.
Hotels are celebrating: according to Federalberghi data, 35 percent of the facilities opened at Easter and will not close before October. There are many promotions for the first four days of May, including Labor Day, the Feast of Sant'Efisio and the weekend. Many tourists from central Europe thanks to low-cost flights, especially Austria, Germany and Switzerland, Sweden with connections to Stockholm and Gothenburg , Denmark with the new entry Copenhagen. The non-hotel sector is also doing well: for Easter and subsequent long weekends, the booking data processed by the Extra association shows a slight increase compared to 2023 with a +3%.
Sprint also from internal tourism: for the Feast of Sant'Efisio twelve extraordinary trains are planned with 2,500 more seats than the ordinary service to reach the capital from the rest of the Island. An influx that will guarantee a full house in the restaurants of the Marina district.
Also eagerly awaited are the concerts: in Alghero live on May 1st with Tazenda, Bertas and Sina, in Sorso there is Mr Rain. Cagliari responds with the heroes of the very young: from Clara to Kid Yugi. Enhanced night shuttles: on board the vehicles for the connection with the beach there will be security guards and video surveillance systems.
The weather is also helping: after the rains of the past few days, a summer appetizer is expected with sunny days, light winds and a significant increase in temperatures. The climate will remain mild for the entire long weekend, until Sunday, May 4, when a light disturbance is expected that should however only bring a few clouds, without significant precipitation.
