Maxi anti-drug operation of the Oristano mobile squad. Over a quintal and a half of marijuana was seized from a farm in Marrubiu.

The drug, ready to be placed on the market, was divided into thirty bags, was already crumbled and cleaned of waste (110 kilos), and also there were 4 other large bags with shrubs still to be deprived of the inflorescences (50 kilos) .

The whole is the result of a large plantation of illegal Indian hemp already uprooted, dried and processed.

The drug was hidden on a farm and inside some houses, used for drying, processing and subsequent storage. The caretaker was the owner of the sheepfold, a young man born in 1989 living in Marrubiu, surprised by the policemen yesterday morning while he was preparing to look after the sheep. At first, to avoid further searches, he handed the officers a heat-sealed bag containing 100 grams of marijuana. But this did not prevent further investigations.

The arrest was immediate.

Marijuana, if placed on the market, would have yielded over 500 thousand euros.
