Massimo Zedda (re)enters Palazzo Bacaredda. It is 10.26am when the new mayor of Cagliari, proclaimed yesterday by the Central Electoral Office, crosses the threshold of the Municipality in Via Roma. A handshake with the ushers, the interview and then immediately to the second floor to greet commissioner Luisa Anna Marras, passing first into the room of the general secretary Giantonio Sau. The formal handover is scheduled for the next few days, but Zedda is already fully operational.

«In the late morning I meet the employees of the Municipality», and there will also be a mini summit with the managers of Palazzo Bacaredda. In view of the formation of the Council, in the afternoon the meeting with the representatives of his party, the Progressives. We continue tomorrow, when in Zedda's agenda there are three bilaterals with Psi-Fortza Paris, Sinistra futuro and Cagliari that I would like.

Zedda is excited. Also of responsibility: «I hear the expectations of the citizens who ask us to change Cagliari immediately». Urban decoration, roads and new waste procurement are the three big priorities that Zedda and Campo Largo have to deal with.

On the Council, the mayor wants to conclude as quickly as possible, even if the proclamation of the new councilors set for June 28th postpones the convening of the first session of the Chamber by a few days. Not by the end of the month but at the beginning of July.

The meetings with the parties concern all the lists that ran on 8 and 9 June, even those that will not enter the Council. In fact: although the scheme and criteria for appointing the councilors are not yet defined, in the Executive only the Pd, Progressives, Avs, Sinistra futuro and M5S will take boxes. However, Orizzonte Comune is out, Cagliari I would like, Cagliari ahead, Fortza Paris-Psi and A Innantis.

The bulk of the departments include Zedda, Pd and Progressives. With two different schemes: 1, 3, 2 or 2, 2, 2 plus the presidency of the Council. The meetings of these days will serve to find agreement on the path to follow.
