Fatal accident this evening, January 7, on the State Road 389 var, inside the "Teulargiu" tunnel in Mamoiada .
A 47-year-old man from Orgosolo, Alessio Succu, lost his life in a collision between two cars.
The tragedy occurred shortly after 8.30pm inside the tunnel, where a Fiat Panda and a Ford Fiesta collided for reasons yet to be ascertained.
Succu, the sole occupant of the Panda, fared the worst. The firefighters who responded to the scene extracted him from the wreckage and handed him over to the emergency medical services, but the paramedics were only able to confirm his death .
The two occupants of the Fiesta, two twenty-year-olds from Orgosolo, were injured and taken to the emergency room . The State Police are investigating the incident, and the stretch of road has been closed to traffic pending the towing of the vehicles.
