Magical Sunday in the town of Ittiri. Everything had to be perfect for the wedding day of the young couple. Even though it was a historical reenactment, perfectly corresponding to the original event, in the costumes, in the habits, in the faces of the people you could perceive the joy of a memorable day, fully lived by the whole community.

The chatter of the women busy with their preparations is interrupted by the sound of a grave horn: here is the police car from the 50s, which leads the way for the procession. And after the preparations, the newlyweds leave the bride's house arm in arm to arrive in procession at the church of San Francesco, where their union has been blessed. Bright colors, handkerchiefs flying, plates broken on the church steps, applause: Ittiri celebrates the most beautiful day of the young couple, the union of two young people who are preparing to live the rest of their lives together.

The bells ring out in celebration. After the procession returned to the bride's house, the real celebrations began, with toasts and hymns, glasses of rosolio raised to the sky as a sign of joy. Then the private wedding lunch, with dancing and singing until the evening. And everyone, without exception, all those present participated in the celebration, wishing the young spouses prosperity and life. The Itifallico Association, starting from an idea of the Istiga association, the creator of the original project, worked for eight months to stage all the various phases of this rite, which began in June with the engagement and ended today, with the blessing in church.

"The stories told to the interviewed spouses of the 50s and the photos they provided us, were the plot that allowed us to stage an event like this, loved, participated in and followed until the last day - underlined the artistic director of the Itifallico association Massimiliano Marongiu Trin i - A special thanks to the Police Headquarters of Sassari for the historic car provided, but in general to all those who worked together with the association in these events".

“Mano's de Faina pro s'affidu”, promoted by the Itifallico association, supported by the contribution of the Chamber of Commerce with Salude&Trigu, is sponsored by the Region, the Province of Sassari, the Municipality of Ittiri, the University of Sassari, the Union of Municipalities of Coros, the Istituto Superiore Etnografico, Isre, the Mario Sironi Academy of Fine Arts of Sassari, the Fondazione di Sardegna and supported by numerous associations and private individuals.
