The green light arrives from the ASL for the expansion of the RSA of Nuraghe Ruju, which allows the creation of 20 new beds, going from the current 40 to 60, filling important gaps in the territory.

The building will therefore be raised, with an investment by the company Sereni Orizzonti (which built and manages the structure) of around two million euros. The same company has obtained the necessary authorizations, together with the favorable compatibility opinion.

«The first 40 beds in the RSA of Macomer were a great achievement - says the mayor Antonio Succu - the need for a structure of this type is very strong in the area: we have very significant waiting lists. Therefore, we are very happy that the Region has authorized a 50 percent increase in seats. It is a decision that goes in the right direction and which leads us to fill important gaps in the area».

The request for an increase in workstations also arises from the need for hospitals to refer newly discharged patients to a suitable facility. «We are very satisfied with the ASL decision - says Valentino Bortolussi, head of real estate development at Sereni Orizzonti -, it is good news for the area and an important step forward in strengthening health care activities. In the waiting list that has been created, we will give priority to hospital discharges and, subsequently, the intention is to accept the other numerous requests for assistance and care that arrive from the area".
