If there are no further impediments, the new waste-to-energy plant in Tossilo will start up by the end of the year. Will Tossilo Spa still manage the entire platform? The fate of the company, an emanation of the Region, is however linked to the decisions of the Oristano court in the hearing scheduled for October 4th . The judge, in fact, could decree its bankruptcy, after a supplier's complaint, with all the resulting consequences.

Meanwhile, the board of directors of Tossilo Spa has approved the recovery plan for the next two years, which was submitted to the shareholders' meeting the day before yesterday. This is to define the crisis situation the company is in, but above all to avoid bankruptcy. There is the company's intention to access the procedures for negotiated settlement of the crisis, with the preparation of an economic and financial restructuring plan, to demonstrate the effective capacity for continuity in waste management.

The shareholders' meeting took place yesterday morning, with the participation of the liquidator commissioner of the Zir Industrial Consortium (which holds the majority with 98.20%), Mario Zacchino, the president of the Board of Directors of Tossilo Spa, Antonio Delitala, the member of the Board of Directors, Barbara Diana and the mayors of Borore, Birori and Sindia. The assembly approved the budget of Tossilo Spa for the years 2020, 2021 and 2022. The same assembly was then suspended and adjourned to a date to be established, to allow for the renewal of the president and the entire board of directors, who had expired.

«The economic recovery plan - says the outgoing president Antonio Delitala - appears positive and there are all the conditions for Tossilo Spa to continue managing the entire waste disposal system, already with the start-up of the new waste-to-energy plant, expected at the end of the year. If bankruptcy were to proceed, we would find ourselves faced with a very serious situation, which would involve the 27 employees and also the 30 companies providing services."

The mayor of Borore Tore Ghisu appears confident: «We are trying to present ourselves with our papers in order at the hearing on 4 October. The meeting of the shareholders' meeting was important for the issues related to the restart of the waste treatment plant, which is imminent".
