Macomer, political crisis of the Union of Municipalities: waiting for the mayors' assembly

The meeting of the ten mayors of the Union of Municipalities of Marghine has been called for tomorrow morning, at 11am.

On the agenda, in addition to some technical questions, there is that "any other business", which becomes the most important topic, because the crux of the political crisis will be addressed which, for over three months now, has been dividing and blocking the activity of the institution.

Under discussion is the problem linked to the presidency, since last June once again entrusted to the mayor of Silanus Gian Pietro Arca, of whom the mayors of Macomer, Bolotana, Borore, Sindia and Dualchi are asking for his resignation and the elimination of his positions, due to a clash that occurred in at the end of July between the president himself and the mayor of Bolotana, Francesco Manconi (who had in turn been disheartened by the president), linked to an issue relating to the management of a former barracks in the mountain park of Badde Salighes.

A resolution of the crisis appears unlikely , given that Gian Pietro Arca, supported by the mayors of Bortigali, Lei, Birori and Noragugume, intends to move forward and asks what the real reasons are why he should resign. A tug of war that has been going on for three months.

"In the assembly I will listen to the requests of the mayors who ask for my resignation - says Arca - but I want to know what the real reasons are for the elimination of the positions". Tomorrow we will know whether Arca will remain at the helm of the organization, or we will proceed with the appointment of a new executive board and a new president.
