Serafino Sanna, a former railway employee originally from Silanus but always in Macomer, celebrated his 100th birthday surrounded by his children, grandchildren, relatives, and friends. He was visited by Mayor Riccardo Uda and Culture Councilor Fabiana Cugusi.
Serafino Sanna, known as Tiu Finu, spent his working life in the workshops of the Sardinian Railways. The mayor and the councilor were present at his celebration, conveying the best wishes of the entire Macomerese community to Tiu Finu and his family.
He was presented with a parchment commemorating this special birthday and a reproduction of the Veneretta di Macomer. These gifts were given to the celebrant as a reminder of the importance of honoring the elderly, precious bearers of everyone's history.
Serafino Sanna is the widower of Caterina Aneris and still has three living sisters, including Andreana (97 years old), Narcisa (93 years old) and Marilena (91).
Next spring, the capital of the Marghine region will celebrate the 102nd birthdays of Tonia Giglio and Angela Porcu, along with others who are about to reach this important milestone. "A s'annu chi enid, tiu Finu."
