As part of an investigation relating to the trade of liquid propane gas in cylinders from Campania and directed to Sardinia, the financiers of the Provincial Commands of Frosinone and Cagliari carried out the decree issued by the Gip of the Court of Cassino for the preventive seizure of plants used for storage.

14 suspects residing in Lazio, Sardinia and Campania. Fraud in the exercise of trade, embezzlement, material falsehood, attacks on transport safety and non-compliance with navigation safety regulations are suspected for various reasons.

From what emerged following the investigations, the distributor of liquid propane gas cylinders, based in Sardinia , would have appropriated, with the complacency of retailers, about 100,000 empty containers belonging to well-known companies in the sector; subsequently, in a warehouse of energy products in Campania, the same cylinders were subjected to the so-called "washing", ie repainting with company colors other than the original ones, in order to conceal their illicit origin; then the identification tags were placed on the cylinders with false data of periodic reviews - in reality never carried out -; finally, to complete the work, the containers were filled, however with a quantity of liquid propane gas lower than that declared, and returned to the final purchasers by sea, hidden in tarpaulin trucks embarked on cargo or passenger ships operating between Sardinia and the Campania, generating significant risks for the safety and security of crews and travelers.

The Fiamme Gialle have seized a factory located in Caserta, 53,000 liters of liquid propane gas and 8,160 cylinders intended for filling.
