"A closure of the Lodè nursery school would be very serious, we will do everything to prevent this from happening". This is the alarm launched by the mayor of Lodè, Antonella Canu, in reference to the situation of the nursery school in the Baronian municipality, whose fate hangs in the balance.

At the end of the current school year, it is unlikely that the structure will reopen its doors. The 5 children enrolled are too few, at least according to the Nuoro Provincial School Office, which informed the comprehensive state school "Eleonora d'Arborea" of Torpè - for now only informally - that the next school year will not be activated. section of the Lodè nursery school.
"In this way, a fundamental service for the country would be lacking - denounces the mayor Canu -. A choice that, if confirmed, risks killing our municipality".

"Lodè is an isolated center, the neighboring schools where the children should be transferred are very far away", he continues. "But not only that, I would like to remind you of the social and didactic importance of the school in the area. of the repercussions on children who, already tried by the anti Covid restrictions of the last two years, would suffer further psychological and emotional damage ".
"We have been informed that, following the closure of the nursery, it will be possible to use an empowerment teacher to maintain a service of at least 5 hours a day - explains Antonella Canu -. But this is not enough, the service must be guaranteed in its entirety. We will not allow this to happen, also by virtue of the fact that births are on the rise - in 2021, 10 babies were born - so the number of those enrolled in the nursery is destined to increase ".
"Closing the nursery school would mean killing the future of our young people - the conclusion - as well as the future of the country. We are ready for the barricades so that it remains open".
