They wanted to accompany their grandmother on her last journey, the one that would have taken her from the church to the cemetery, but instead the deputy parish priest prohibited the procession behind the hearse. Custom, probably a product of the Covid period, which then became customary even later in Lanusei.
Not happy, friends and family then brought forward the hearse and created a procession in front of the car that was taking the Ogliastra grandmother to the cemetery.
At this point, the priest, Don Federico Murtas, left without giving the last blessing to the deceased. It happened in Lanusei, in the late afternoon of Monday, on the occasion of the final farewell to Pia Donna Maria Cabras, 94 years old, three children and eight grandchildren, janitor in schools and a life of being close to God and the Church, she did not receive the last blessing.
