La Maddalena, passenger of "La Suprema" struck by heart attack

The ship “La Suprema” was sailing approximately 60 miles northeast of the island of Maddalena along the Genoa-Palermo route, when it communicated that a 60-year-old passenger, of Italian nationality, had suffered a heart attack and needed immediate medical attention.

The Operations Room of the 16th MRSC of Olbia immediately ordered the use of the CP 306 stationed at the Port Authority of La Maddalena which, once the 118 medical personnel had embarked, headed, at full speed, towards “La Suprema”, which in the meantime had changed course and headed towards the Sardinian coast to reduce the intervention times.

Once the transfer was completed, the passenger was then disembarked on the island of Maddalena and from there transported to the hospital in Olbia by 118 helicopter.
