"This is the best kindergarten in the area." Thus the mayor of Sassari Nanni Campus presents to the community after the symbolic ribbon cutting the new municipal nursery in via Onida in the hamlet of Li Punti.

A structure begun to build in 2008 with an initial spending commitment of 859 thousand euros and completed this year for a total investment of approximately 1 million and 700 thousand euros, of which half a million invested by the current administration.

The nursery hosts 61 boys and girls aged from 3 to 36 months, divided into three macro-sections, extends over four main buildings and includes, outside, a tree-lined space of over 3 thousand m2. The work saw the close synergy between the Public Works sector and that of Educational Policies, represented yesterday respectively by councilors Rosanna Arru and Laura Useri and by managers Gianni Melis and Giuseppina Soddu.

«We were supported - explains Arru - by a professional like the architect Giovanni Fumagalli who helped us make the building a nest, with all the necessary characteristics». Open spaces therefore, furnishings, made mainly of wood, and adequate paint colors and a general functionality in line with the latest pedagogical concepts. The service will be managed by the temporary business grouping "Nasce un sorriso", a social cooperative and "Sirio", a social cooperative, which already managed the nursery in Via Fais, in the Monte Rosello Alto district.
