They promised jobs in exchange for votes in the Regional elections of February 2024. It is an investigation that could have further repercussions, conducted by the Digos of Oristano, under the coordination of the Public Prosecutor's Office.

At the center of the story is a woman originally from Sassari, registered in the register of suspects with 14 other people for violating electoral regulations.

The investigations directed by the head of the Digos, Chief Commissioner Federica Sanna, have documented the woman's prolonged illicit activity: during the electoral period for the election of the Regional Council she sought out unemployed and people in precarious economic conditions. She organized meetings with dozens of them, to promise them jobs and other benefits. The aim: to obtain certain votes in favor of a candidate in the Oristano constituency (at the moment the name of the person who allegedly benefited from the advantages is unknown).

The subsequent investigations delegated by the Public Prosecutor's Office have allowed to reveal and delve into the complex and articulated organization planned by the defendant, who has prepared, directed and coordinated a widespread network of collaborators, distributed throughout the Oristano area: all of them would have knowingly contributed to the woman's project, facilitating and strengthening the achievement of her objective.

The 15 defendants are accused, jointly, of violating Article 96 of the Consolidated Text of Electoral Laws, "for having promised jobs and other benefits to people in need or in any case seeking employment, in exchange for their promise to vote for the indicated candidate".
