The defibrillator located outside the municipality of Ittiri is back in operation.

The news was given by the advisers of "Siamo Ittiri" who inform that they have purchased and made available the plates/electrodes for the important life-saving instrument since yesterday. Donated in 2018 by the "Amici di Salvatore Serra" association, the defibrillator «was used - communicate the four councilors Manuela Soro, Lia Calvia, Antonio Dore, Maria Grazia Simula and Giacomo Zara - unfortunately without success in January 2023. Following this instrument was removed and made unavailable for five months.'

Urged by 118 and by ordinary citizens, the group, after reporting the situation to the mayor in the city council on March 29 and then on social media, moved independently to purchase the plates by contacting a company in Sassari. On 26 May, he informed the mayor of the acquisition of the new electrodes, at the same time learning that, on the same day, a rest home in the town also gave away other plates. However, continues the note from Siamo Ittiri, "they expire in five months (October) while those purchased by the group will expire in November 2024".

The important thing, the councilors conclude, was "to restore the defibrillator and guarantee its functioning in case of need, also reminding us that it is a donation that must be honored and respected".
