Gianluca Mureddu, 40, a native of La Maddalena, a former special commissioner, has been appointed president of the Asinara National Park. The appointment, now official, was made via a decree signed by Minister Gilberto Pichetto Fratin.
A graduate in Molecular Biology, Mureddu served as an advisor to the board of directors of La Maddalena National Park, a role that allowed him to establish relationships with the Asinara Park Authority and its director, Vittorio Gazale. Six months into his term as commissioner, Mureddu's confirmation has arrived, which will see him lead the Authority for ten years without a president and with the prospect of establishing a governance structure that can support a series of development actions and projects for the island of Asinara.
Mureddu, in close collaboration with the director Vittorio Gazale, at the time of his appointment had addressed a series of delicate issues that had been at a standstill for too long, precisely due to the lack of a legal representative, necessary to sign the essential documents, such as the budget forecast already drawn up by the administrative offices of the Authority and the specifications for the issuing of concessions.
