"These Israeli citizens entered Italy under national agreements, and the Region has no power over this," explained Sardinia Regional President Alessandra Todde in an interview with Il Fatto Quotidiano regarding the Sardinian holidays of Israeli citizens, including members of the IDF.

"I also spoke to the CEO of Olbia airport," since councilors from the United for Todde list had asked to cancel the flight between the Sardinian resort and Tel Aviv, "but he explained to me that nothing could be done," he added.

"We will do what we can, that is, we will ask the Prime Minister's Office for explanations," the president further explains.

But when the M5S asked about the case, Interior Minister Piantedosi responded that "there are cultural groups that need to be protected."

"I acknowledge the minister's response, according to which these are cultural groups, not military personnel, present in Italy without anyone having informed the local authorities," he retorts. "However, I have the impression that Piantedosi doesn't understand what happens every day to the people of Gaza. This is something we cannot tolerate."
